Profile

Franc Biffone - Director of Photography

I love being a filmmaker.

I am an Australian-based, internationally recognised Director Of Photography who loves working with other creatives around the world to bring their visions and scripts to life.

My passion is visible in the projects in my portfolio, which include features, shorts, TVCs and commercial content. I'm very proud of the awards I, and others in the teams, have won.

I am driven by creativity.

Collaboration and creativity drive me to achieve the best possible results. I go above and beyond to get the job done, meaning my roles often extend beyond those I claim credit for.

After more than 30 years in the industry, I have built up a fantastic team based on camaraderie and integrity that travels with me to most sets and locations. My network of trusted local and international contacts also enables me to facilitate overseas-based productions shooting in Australia.

I am an active member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) and member of the Steadicam Operators Association (SOA). I get to play with all the latest production toys, meaning I am proficient on all digital camera formats, including the latest cameras from Arri, Red, Phantom HD and the vast range of cameras by Sony, Canon, Panasonic and many more.

I am passionate about the industry.

I am a frequent keynote speaker at film events, a guest lecturer at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), and proudly mentor many up-and-coming filmmakers.

As my colleagues and peers will attest, my passion, leadership and creativity on set means that when you choose me for your project, you will get an enthusiastic, hard-working, creative, resourceful and passionate DOP and filmmaker.
